ARE THE LAWS AND COMMANDMENTS OF THE BIBLE DONE AWAY WITH? I THINK NOT, HERE IS WHY:

Matthew 5:17 - 19
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

WHAT IS SIN?
1 JOHN 3:4
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1 John 3:5 - 12
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
The "he" is Christ

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

Proverbs 4:7
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Isaiah 28:9 - 10
Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

There are many scriptures in the bible that prove that all of the "LAWS" are not done away with. There were some changes made under the new covenant. All the laws that pertain to the Levitical priesthood were done away with under the new covenant. The meat offerings, drink offerings, divers washings and carnal ordinances that came with the covenant of Levi. Read Hebrews chapters 7, 8, 9, 10, and Malachi chapter 2.

There were laws from the beginning. God's first law was making the seventh day a holy day for man. Genesis 2:3-And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Another example of this is:
Genesis 2:16-17
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

This verse proves that the first words spoken to man were "LAW". Judgment was carried out on both Adam and Eve. They received punishment for disobeying the "Laws and Commandments".
Followed by the law of thou shalt not murder in the history of Cain and Abel.

Also in the time of Noah. The Most High judged the entire Earth for being evil.
Genesis 6:5-7
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Noah also understood the difference between the clean and unclean animals as in the dietary law that came later on.

Genesis 7:2-3
Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

In the story about Abraham, when he feared for his life and gave his wife Sarah to Abimelech King of Gerar.

Genesis 20:2-7
And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.
But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife.
But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation?
Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this.
And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.
Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.

In Deuteronomy 4:8 Moses said "And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?"

In the Apocrypha: Baruch 4:1- This is the Book of commandments of God: and the Law that endureth forever: all they that keep it shall come to life: but such as leave it, shall die.

We must repent and keep laws and commandments of the bible to the best of our ability to attain salvation/the kingdom of heaven.

Psalms 119:61-73
61 The bands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.
62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.
63 I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.
64 The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.
65 Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O Lord, according unto thy word.
66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.
68 Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.
69 The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.
70 Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law.
71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
72 The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.
73 Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.

Psalm 111:10
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

This scripture clearly points out to truly understand the scriptures you must be obedient to the commandments of the Bible.

Deuteronomy 10:12 ” And now Israel what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God to walk in all his ways, and to love him and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul Verse 13 ” To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

Ecclesiastes 12:13 ” Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man”

This scripture solidifies our sole purpose on earth is to keep the laws of the bible thru the Saviour Christ. The reason why you ought to fear the Heavenly Father is because his judgments are severe for the breaking of his commandments.

Because of false teachings, philosophies and religions, the Old Testament has been falsely taught/interpreted as laws that no longer have to be applied. The widely used quotes by False teachers regarding the keeping of the law is ” IT was Only For Back Then” or ” That only pertained to the OLD Covenant” or “You don’t have to do those laws for salvation” These are the deceitful quotes made by false teachers to sway the faith of the Lord’s people.
Isaiah 8:20 ” To the law and to the testimony (the bible consists of laws and testimonies of Christ): if they speak not according to this word, (Meaning those who teach contrary to the laws of the bible) it is because there is no light in them.”
Anyone who does not speak according to God’s LAW and testimony has no light; no truth in them!

The prophet Isaiah constantly prophesied the coming of Christ even in the 42nd chapter.
Isaiah 42:21 “The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the LAW, and make it honorable.”
This prophesy proves that when Christ walked the earth he magnified the law of the Most High and made it honorable among Israel. Any one teaching otherwise has no light in them.

Here is what Christ told Satan.
Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Christ is letting us know that every word is referring to the whole bible, which contains the Laws and Commandments. The Apostle Paul agreed we must live by every word in the scriptures.

2 Timothy 3:16
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

ALL scriptures from Genesis to Revelation are inspired by God Almighty, benefits your life as doctrine, are to be used for correction, and for instruction in righteousness (in Christ).
Matthew 22:36 “Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37: Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38: This is the first and great commandment.
39: And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40: On these two commandments hang ALL THE LAW and the prophets.
Proving “all the law” and “every word” and “all scriptures” are saying the same thing. We must do everything the bible teaches.

Let’s read what Christ tells his disciples-

Proving Christ did not come to destroy the Laws. Christ came and fulfilled what was written of him in the scriptures.
Luke 24:44
44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Proving Christ did not come to do away with the law nor do away with any of the prophecies. Christ kept the commandments in their perfection and reminded the disciples he did not come to destroy the law but rather fulfill the prophecies regarding his initial walk, death and resurrection for Israel.

Matthew 5:17 - 19
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Proving we must do the law and teach the law to enter the kingdom of heaven and we are forbidden to teach anyone to break even the least of the commandments.

Matthew 23:23 “Woe unto you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay TITHE of mint and anise and cumin ( tithes of spices is least), and have omitted the weightier (greater)matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done and NOT to leave the other undone(tithe of spices).”
So Christ is teaching us what we need to do for salvation.

Matthew 5:20
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

The Pharisees taught the Israelites to keep the laws but they themselves never kept the commandments. They were hypocrites.
Christ is clearly stating that the laws must be kept to surpass the righteousness of the Pharisees. Read Matthew 23: 1-3, Matthew 15:7-9

Matthew 19:16
And behold one came and said unto him, Good Master what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?

Matthew 19:17 ” And he said unto him Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God: but if thou wilt enter into life keep the commandments”
Matthew 19:18 “He saith unto him which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Matthew 19:19 “Honor thy father and thy Mother:and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self.”

Christ is letting us know the remedy to attain salvation is in keeping the commandments. Christ emphasizes only a few laws for that man he spoke with to understand. Some claim those commandments mentioned in Matthew 19:18,19 are all we need to do to be saved. However notice Christ did not mention “Thou shalt have no other gods before the Most High, Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images to bow down and worship, Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain neither Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Does that mean we can worship other gods? or graven images? Can we take the Lords name in Lies? Can we pollute the Sabbath? NO of course not. Christ gave a brief answer for THAT man.

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

The Messiah is the same as the prophecies foretell (yesterday) and the New Testament fulfilled (today and forever-even now).

1 John 2:3-6
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Romans 2:13
13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

The questions that constantly arise in people's minds is do I have to keep all the laws of the Bible?

Romans 3:31
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

To establish the law is to keep the commandments of the bible.

Romans 6:1
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

God Forbid (Means NO!)

During the time of the Apostles when certain men tried to pervert the gospel of Christ by saying that the covenant of Levi/old covenant (by being circumcised by the levitical priests) was the way to salvation. Read Malachi 2 and Acts 15

Galatians 1:7 ” Which is not another but there is some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel in Christ.”

Galatians 1:8 ” But though we or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”
Colossians 2:8 ” Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit (Meaning lies) after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

During this time period you had wicked men that tried to glorify the Levitical Priesthood and reject Christ of the tribe of Judah as the High Priest.

The Apostle Paul proclaimed concerning them,
1 Timothy 1:7 “Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. Verse 8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; verse 9 : Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10: For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
11: According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.”
Those verses prove the law is for all of us because there is none righteous. Furthermore in verse 11 Paul proves that the LAW is according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God.

1st John 5:3 ” For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

2nd John 6 ” And this is the love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, that as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it”
Proverbs 3:1 My son forget not my law; but let thine heart (Meaning your mind) keep my commandments Verse 2 ” For length of days, and long life and peace, shall they add to thee.”

Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart (Meaning teachers that keep the laws) which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”

Revelation 14:12 “Here is the patience of the saints; here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”

Revelation 22:14 “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of Life, and may enter in through the gates of the city.”
